Main Areas of Responsibility:
- The 2013 Summer Internship program will run from June 3rd to August 2nd. These paid internships ($15 per hour) are based out of our Stamford, CT office. We have 7 positions available in our Supply Chain Department:
- 1. Quality Management: Ensuring the integrity of the specifications that are passed along to our contracted turnkey manufacturing vendors.
- (continued from above) Additionally, the Intern will be tasked with the development of a tracking tool to summarize the results of Operational Audits at our raw materials suppliers.
- 2. Project Management: Assist in the creation of a timeline for the reformulation of our Ceramide Capsule line. Specifically, the Intern will be responsible for analyzing and completing Bill of Material (BOM)
- (continued from above) documentation, establishing a consistent skincare reporting metric in accordance with our gate process, and integrating this information into our new Oracle Agile database system.
- 3. Package Development: Take an active role in the development and engineering of packages to ensure both aesthetic and functional objectives are met. Specifically, the Intern will coordinate appropriate packaging testing as required
- (continued from above) create Bills of Materials, and develop a third party vendor cost matrix to assist the Managers of Package Development in their award of business decisions.
- 4. Global Promotions and Trade Customization: Establish a database to compare and contrast the volume and cost data for all promotional programs over the past two years.
- (continued from above) Additionally, the Intern will be responsible for extrapolating data on various types of secondary materials, which will require use of the Company’s MRP (data warehousing) system.
- 5. Global Transportation: Partner directly with the VP, Global Transportation to summarize FY13 transportation spend, forecast FY14 transportation spend, and identify areas in which cost savings can be achieved.
- (continued from above) Specifically, the Gobal Transportation Intern will “wear a financial hat” while analyzing past transportation spend (one of the top five direct expenses of the entire Company) and forecasting future trends
- (continued from above) as they pertain to transportation spend, with the goal of identifying opportunities to achieve economies of scale and minimize waste.
- 6. Research & Development (2 positions available): Assume an active role in the formulation review and regulatory affairs requirements set forth on the Company by the FDA. Specifically, the Research & Development Intern will prepare technical information
- (continued from above) for Elizabeth Arden to be used by outside Safety Assessor for EU Regulatory Project, and provide project support to including tracking, additional information exchange and reporting as required.
Qualifications:
- Sophomore or Junior class status (Junior or Senior class status beginning in the Fall, 2013 semester) in one of the following majors: Supply Chain, Engineering (Chemical or Manufacturing), Management Information Systems, Operations Research, or Chemistry.
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong technical skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Ability to work effectively in both a team and an independent environment

Education:
- Sophomore or Junior class status (Junior or Senior class status beginning in the Fall, 2013 semester) in one of the following majors: Supply Chain, Engineering (Chemical or Manufacturing), Management Information Systems, Operations Research, or Chemistry.
