Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Reporting to the SVP of Global Logistics & OTC, the Dir. of Global Transp. is responsible for development and leadership of a flexible, adaptive, and responsive freight/transp. strategy within an integrated Global Logistics and Supply Chain network.
  • Ability to work both at the strategic and tactical levels providing direction to the Transportation Organization and 3PL Providers.
  • Needs to be able to manage the details while developing the long term vision. Will need to work across the supply chain as a functional expert, as well as actively participate in the Logistics Leadership Team.
  • Serve as a global champion and key change agent working cross functionally to drive process and performance improvement.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related fields. MBA, or MS in related field, is highly desired.
  • 15 or more year's leadership experience in Freight/Transportation environment.
  • Prior experience in negotiating all modes of freight directly with Carriers, Brokers, or 3PL's.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of import and export shipping and customs compliance including NAFTA, CTPAT, ISA, FTZ's, BLP's etc.
  • Highly desired are those with previous Global experience, especially those having worked and/or lived abroad.
  • Previous experience working in an environment utilizing a robust TMS, or Logistics & Supply Chain integrated network.
  • Strong financial and quantitative analysis and PC (MS Office Suite) skills are required.
  • Prefer formal skills training and/or leadership development, which may include programs such as Covey, Foundations, Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, Project Management, etc.
  • Prior experience in leading teams to maximize employee performance and engagement by capitalizing on each employee's unique differences and experiences.
  • Excel in both verbal and written communication, in addition to having very strong presentation skills.
  • Creative problem solving skills and project leadership abilities.

Education:
