Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assist with product launch logistics (product forecasting, supplies, lab samples, etc.).
  • Assist with monitoring the department's direct and indirect budgets, process invoices and follow up with the accounting department
  • Monitor all media coverage (print, broadcast, online) through searches and use of CisionPoint database; track all fact-checked placements; scan placements and record in media-to-date chart
  • Liaise with PR agencies to support department needs and initiatives
  • Draft and edit press materials
  • Compile and distribute weekly Beauty News Roundup to employees with pertinent industry news
  • Communicate and distribute approved PR information/materials to global affiliates and post to the portal
  • Process and route creative requests to creative department.
  • Coordinate internship program: maintain relationships with universities, interview/hire candidates and oversee interns on daily basis (orientation, training, project management, etc.).
  • Maintain PR Activity Calendars and Timing & Action Plans
  • Fulfill media product requests
  • Support Manager in management of social media platforms and programs
  • Monitor the PR mailbox on a regular basis and route to relevant parties
  • Maintain department files, publication subscriptions, Global Affiliates distribution list, press lists, awards list, etc

Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years experience in Public Relations field (beauty industry experience preferred)
  • Bachelors degree (Communications or English majors preferred, but not required).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on writing and editing
  • Superior organizational and follow-up skills, good interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and meet ever-changing deadlines
  • Strong team player that works well with others
  • Understands how to prioritize and manage workload
  • Superior organizational and follow-up skills, good interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Must be proactive and able to see the big picture while being detail oriented.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Internet (including social media platforms)
