Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • This position is responsible for the leadership of the distributed, mass, and Arden fragrances brand portfolios in Canada:
  • Develop and Implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies and marketing communication plans that align with global brand direction and local market business objectives
  • Develop launch and sustain plans for new products and/or brands, including fact based recommendations for volume targets, local market pricing strategy, distribution strategy, budget proposals, P&L generation and critical path. Execute launch plans and an
  • Understand the financial operations of each brand managed (P&L, Direct Marketing Spend, ROI, etc.). Accountable for developing Gross Sales Volume (GSV) forecasts for financial planning based on past performance, sales targets.
  • Build strong relationships with New York Marketing Teams to ensure timely information exchange and collaborate to build local market business solutions for identified issues and challenges
  • Manage Direct Marketing Expenses for assigned categories and provide 12 month rolling forecast updates for assigned categories. Manage the Canadian Line List and facilitate the business planning process with the Canadian Cross Functional Team.
  • Work with owners of the distributed brands for brand plan approvals for launch and sustain strategies. Communicate ongoing business results and successes. Provide regular Canadian Business Updates to US Marketing Teams to educate on local market needs.
  • Advise cross functional team on developments within the global pipeline process and external vendor situations that may impact operations of the business or pose barriers to business growth; provide options and solutions
  • Conduct ongoing analysis to ensure consistent brand health, including overall category, brand and key customer performance, competitive product and pricing reviews and impact on sales and ROI of all marketing activity; complete detailed Category reviews a
  • Lead the implementation of all local marketing communications including, but not limited to, Print and TV advertising, digital marketing campaigns, consumer contests and promotions, event sponsorships, grassroots campaigns, etc.
  • Work with US Creative and Legal Teams to adapt North American advertising to support local market media buys and develop Canadian specific creative when necessary
  • Manage the development and roll out of all promotional programs, including the CDN adaptation of seasonal and promotional product offerings and sampling initiatives; provide post-promotional analysis and key learnings.
  • Work with the Media, PR and Promotions Agencies to develop best-in-class consumer communications; develop detailed briefing documents and provide feedback during recommendation reviews
  • Track and share learnings on competitive positioning, products, brands and marketing activitiesBuild strong relationships with New York Marketing Teams to ensure timely information exchange and collaborate to build local market business solutions.
  • Identify and leverage customer-specific and channel marketing opportunities by prioritizing and capitalizing on channel, customer and shopper insights while linking to brand strategy.

Qualifications:
  • 5 to 7 years experience in brand management within a fast paced consumer packaged goods industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of CeRoy, AcNielsen, Markettrack, and Homescan
  • Previous cosmetics and/or fragrance industry experience an asset, as well as experience within highly trend driven categories, including apparel, toys, entertainment, etc.
  • Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques, and proven writing skills
  • Ability to translate market and shopper insights, brand strategies and customer needs into best in class customer marketing plans
  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to independently generate insights from data and apply key learnings to future actions
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and display flexibility within a fast paced work environment
