Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Manage and/or mentor Administrators, Associate Engineers and Engineers, providing oversite and professional development instruction
  • Manage the development and engineering of packages to ensure both aesthetic and functional objectives are met
  • Manage the evaluation and selection of package materials and processes that meet functional and cost criteria
  • Conduct in depth technical feasibility studies relative to custom package options
  • Ensure and maintain package design integrity
  • Prepare and present supplier quotation briefs (primary packages) and design turn-over briefs (graphic development)
  • Analyze and assess capital expenditure needs. Prepare CER documentation
  • Develop and validate new tooling in a variety of substrates and processes
  • Provide leadership in the project management role in launches project, relative to package function (vendor collaboration, timing and cost management, line tests, etc.)
  • Ensure appropriate package testing is completed
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of development cost sheets
  • Oversee and/or create new component parts, corresponding technical specifications and Bills of Materials within the Interspec 6.4 system
  • Manage artwork requirements (PARF through pre-press proof approval)
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Package/Product innovation and technology advances as well as environmental worldwide requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree; specific degree in Package Development/Engineering is highly preferred
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience structuring bills of materials and package specifications
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, teaching and communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills, ability to motivate others
  • Ability to function in a fast pace environment, adaptable to managing changing

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree; specific degree in Package Development/Engineering is highly preferred
