Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Providing leadership, vision, and strategic direction to the marketing organization, the education/training division and the public relations portfolio.
  • Ensuring that the marketing, education/training, and public relations portfolios are interlinked through out the marketing strategy for consistent communication and execution.
  • Establishing and evaluating business objectives and formulating appropriate strategies to support those objectives.
  • Leading, managing, guiding, inspiring, and supporting all members of the marketing, education/training, and public relations teams.
  • Creating an environment that fosters teamwork, establishing and achieving performance criteria and goals.
  • Managing portfolios and team members within the context of the corporate vision, mission, values, and code of conduct while promoting a culture that encourages success.
  • Developing and leveraging productive internal and external relationships across the global company in order to exchange knowledge, collaborate, and contribute to local and global business initiatives.
  • Accountability for meeting business objectives, increasing market share, creating and developing plans/objectives/materials for marketing, education/training, and public relations.
  • Adapting US driven strategies and/or unique strategies.
  • Managing media relationships and overseeing/directing the strategic planning and execution of all national advertising campaigns.
  • Forcasting revenue levels and estabilishing appropriate targets, managing all budgets, conducting competitive market trend analysis.
  • Managing retail space, forecasting market share and factory shipment deliverables.
  • Establishing relationships and credibility, fostering great synergy, providing continued growth in core brands, executing Elizabeth Arden repositioning project.
  • Creating a strong visual go-to-market strategy, beginning to work on the 3-5 year plan for business.
  • Elevating one's personal level of ability and knowledge, exhibiting future potential, and developing and mentoring the team.

Qualifications:
  • Experience gained within the consumer packaged goods industry, with preference for the health and beauty segment or a segment with high turns, seasonality and heavily driven by advertising. Has worked for a subsidiary of a US publicly traded company.
  • Will have knowledge of Canada's major Canadian retailers, gained through prior exposure and interaction with these retailers. Will understand the mass channel.
  • Is comfortable in front of customers. with an ability to present, strategize with and generate a level of comfort, trust and engagement with customers. Has the ability to see the business through the customer lens.
  • Has played a senior leadership role in the marketing function and has overseen public relations and national training functions.
  • Has deep knowledge of social media tools and has proven a track record of success in building consumer loyalty and acquiring share through this medium.
  • Proven leadership experience is must, has a track record of mentoring and developing top quality, motivated teams. Has demonstrated principled leadership, sound business ethics and consistency among principles, values and behaviours.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to build, nurture, and influence productive, collaborative, and communicative relationships within, across, and outside of an organization.
  • Thinks strategically and innovatively, displays strong business acumen and understanding of business drivers, combined with the ability to effectively plan and execute.
  • Takes a broad-scale, long-term view of challenges and opportunities while assessing options and implications.
  • Creative, out of the box, dynamic and forward thinking individual with a demonstrated drive and passion.
  • Proven organizational, planning, critical reasoning, and presentation skills.
  • Has a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and ability to anticipate, respond to and lead change.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills, able to think methodically and analytically. Effectively prioritize in a constantly changing environment. Adept at multi-tasking.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to meet multiple frequent and aggressive deadlines.
  • Skills: knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of CeRoy, AcNielsen, Markettrack, and Homescan.

Education:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Marketing or Business Administration with at least 10 years of marketing, training, and public relations experience.
