Main Areas of Responsibility:
  • Analyze sales/inventory data for assigned accounts and help co-manage category with buyer and salesperson. Review new item suggestions with buyer, recommend item deletions and additions by planogram.
  • Identify consumer trends which will aid in generating solid recommendations to grow retail sales for the category.
  • Provide analytical support to salesperson for internal budgeting and planning sessions, including calculating the annual forecast by item and estimating retail sales for new items.
  • Prepare weekly reports on category, identifying trends by brand and item and summarizing information into professional presentations
  • Perform pricing survey for assigned accounts every other month.
  • Prepare and present category review information, including market and industry trends, SWOT, competitive review, account trends, etc. Answer retailers’ questions.
  • Prepare weekly promotional tracking during the holiday season. This includes but not limited to: tracking sales by item by day and providing sell through information.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years previous direct category management experience with mass account interaction required.
  • Must have excellent analytical, presentation and oral/written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build productive work relationships.
  • Must be able to effectively interface with all levels of employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Must have proven analytical skills demonstrated through previous work experience.
  • High level of Excel knowledge and experience is required. Knowledge of ACCESS, a plus.
  • ProSpace/Info Retriever/IRI/Spectra/AcNielsen knowledge required.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management or related field. Master’s degree a plus.

Travel Requirements: 20%
