Main Areas of Responsibility:
- Monthly Close - Perform month end close responsibilities for all of the Company’s retail operations
- Expense Tracking - Track actual expenses against approved budgets in various areas
- Accruals and Reserves - Prepare and analyze accruals and reserve accounts on a monthly basis
- Royalties - Compute royalties and comply with related reporting requirements
- Inventory - Reconcile inventory receipts to amount entered in the system; analyze and post inventory variances and adjustments to General Ledger
- Account Reconciliations - Perform account reconciliations quickly and accurately, requesting additional information when necessary
- Journal Entries - Preparation and recording of journal entries for the monthly close within the established timeframe
- Forecast and Budgets - Work with Channel management and across departments to develop forecasts and budgets
- Support Channel management with financial techniques, analysis and reports
- Process Company Store system updates, including entering inventory receipts, cost updates and inventory control
- Assist auditors in quarterly and year-end audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to work with various departments via telephone and e-mail to obtain requested explanations and information.
- Strong understanding of retail sales including POS and inventory management.
- Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) mandatory.
- Ability to streamline processes to take advantage of consolidation opportunities.
- Prior experience with JDE and other POS software a plus.
- Must be able to perform account reconciliations quickly and accurately, requesting additional information when necessary.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Must possess general accounting acumen in the areas of prepaid assets, amortization and depreciation, accrued expenses.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain a firm but calm demeanor when working with stores on charges incurred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
